Brian Carpenter serves as the Deputy Director of the Economic Services Development Department.

Prior to joining Peoria, Brian had a 20-year retail leadership career. He held roles in strategic planning, operations, and real estate and development, among others. He has extensive experience in market planning, and was critical in identifying growth opportunities and executing high-impact development strategies. With a strong background focused on strategy and revenue growth, Brian plays a key role in driving Peoria's economic development initiatives. His experience in navigating complex market dynamics and fostering business investment positions him as a valuable asset in shaping Peoria’s economic future.

Brian's approach is data-driven and results-oriented, aligning Peoria's economic strategy with market trends and business needs. His work focuses on highlighting Peoria's strengths, nurturing relationships with site selectors, and leveraging public-private partnerships to create sustainable economic opportunities.
