The Peoria City Council adopted an aggressive economic development plan that will guide the city’s strategic efforts for the next five years.
The Economic Development Implementation Strategy (EDIS ll) is an economic development roadmap, designed with careful analysis and focus on a unique vision for future development of the city. The five-year plan outlines the steps needed to accomplish specific initiatives and objectives and fulfills the vision and goals set by city council.

Regional Workforce Development Implementation Strategy
In a regional initiative, WESTMARC (Western Maricopa) has been identified an effective way to demonstrate the strength of the West Valley workforce to increase opportunities for business recruitment. This initiative has resulted in two outcomes:
- Residential and occupational demographic 30 minute commute shed analytics
- Workforce Development Implementation Strategy – A comprehensive, long-term gap analysis and strategic implementation strategy. Anticipated delivery date February 2018.
